The work of a cadet was never done. Mainly because everyone could tell you do to pretty much anything they wanted. And that was almost what Neria April was doing. Everything all at once.
She could have been doing something easy. After all, she was the captain's only daughter. But... if there was one thing Neria wasn't... it was a girl who was going to ride her father's name to an easy assignment.
So... here she was. Working in the Ops department. Which was a daunting task in itself. But working for Lieutenant Ordalani... That took on a whole new meaning. The Bartokian was unstoppable. She could do four jobs at one time better than some people could do one. The words "can't" or "won't" didn't seem to be in the woman's vocabulary. And she demanded the same dedication from all of her staff. No slackers need apply. There were tales of so-called "go-getters" who lasted a couple of days under Eve Ordalani. Neria was determined to be one of the survivors.
Right now, she was taking inventory in Hydroponics. A menial task, at best. But Neria was treating it like failure would result in a warp core breech. She had just double-checked the numbers... and everything had come up perfectly. With that complete, she headed back to the Ops department to turn in her report.
