Responding to "Reporting In (Havercroft)"
The bridge crew shot brief looks at the human woman who emerged from the turbolift then stepped back in. Another new face they didn't know – Arcadia sure got its passing share of them. How long would this one be around, some of them wondered....
In the turbolift, she tapped her com-badge: "Havercroft to Captain April; I was wondering if you were free to accept my transfer orders, sir?"
A second later, the doors opened again to reveal April standing there, on the bridge, arms crossed. One eye and a black patch regarded her. Havercroft blinked in surprise. "I'm sorry... Captain April? I thought you were in Lieutenant Iyika's quarters...."
Over April's shoulder, one of the crewmen near the doors overheard and glanced her way, grinned then went back to work. She had a few things to learn about how this particular captain did things.
"Transfer orders?" April said, lowering his arms, reaching for the PADD; she handed it to him. He gave it a once-over, nodding slowly. "You have a good record, Miss Havercroft." He held out a hand. "Welcome aboard. I don't know how much you know of this current mission we're on, but get settled in, then report back to me ASAP. There are a few things I'd like to go over with you." He turned away, stopped, turned back. "Oh, and don't worry about finding me." He smiled. "I'm everywhere."
