Dragon Trouble

Carter Drake was simply eating in his quarters when outside his window appeared a surprising shape... including its familiarity.  The only greater surprise was the rippling of his own scaled skin into a fully human form for the first time in years.  He could still sense the dragon inside him, but it was somehow more distant, harder to reach.  He could tell his powers hadn't changed, but whatever this occurrence, it was working on a quantum level.  His reaction, of course, was to tap his com-badge.
