The ship had just picked up their new first officer, and they were preparing to head off into the singularity to the new galaxy. The crew was abuzz... partially with excitement, partially with fear. Eve was one of the excited.
She had her ever-present PADD on hand, and was looking for the captain. She liked to keep Captain April appraised of everything. Some of the more jaded members of the crew accused her of "brown-nosing." Eve had finally learned the meaning of the term. She wrote it off to people who had nothing better to do with their time than gossip.
Stephen April had personally selected Eve as Arcadia's Chief of Ops. And Eve felt an obligation to live up to that trust. She had been one of Arcadia's most efficient officers... but she always felt that she needed to work extra hard.
She saw April exiting the turbolift, and walked over, falling in stride with him.
"Sir. I have something for you." She extended the PADD she was carrying. "All of the scientists and civilians have been given quarters... and the crew complaints about sharing the Arcadia facilities have been taken care of."
