Ria bit her lower lip. Damn. Some species were touchy about having their minds read without permission. She pissed Eve off once by doing that. She never read the young Bartokian's mind again without asking.
"Sorry. Force of habit. Besides, the look on your face kind of gave it away." Sitting back, she sighed. "No one around here knows anything. The most talked-about ship in the entire fleet vanishes into thin air..." She leaned forward and whispered, "...no one knows a damn thing. Nothing. Not even a freaking guess. I hear they are calling in every ship and their grandmother... and I'll bet they don't figure out shit."
