Senator Leonard Campbell, member of the Federation Council, stepped off the shuttle that just brought him and Federation news anchor Carlos Vega from the Arcadia.
"Pretty impressive Senator; this upcoming mission though, doesn't it concern you?" Vega asked.
"Anytime that we send our people out into space, out into the unknown it is a concern. We have the best crew under the best captain for this particular mission. I don't foresee any problems that they can't handle."
"What of Doctor Muniz? You have to admit that it is far-flung."
"We've always wanted to see what was on the other side of the mountain. When it took days to cross the mountains it now only takes a blink of the eye to travel to another galaxy. I wish I was making this journey but it is now for a younger generation, a younger team of explorers."
"Senator, I thank you for your time. I was wondering, has the decision to embed reporters on this mission been completed?"
"Are you asking to go, Carlos?"
"Of course I am. It is a reporter's dream to report the facts as they happen, to be on the scene when the story went down."
"You've always been fair and balanced in your reporting. Probably accounts for your many awards. I will tell you what. See my Starfleet aide, Captain Wayne. Tell him what you would like and let him work out the details. There are strict rules that you must follow."
"I understand; I wouldn't want to cause too much disruption."
"No problem. If you will excuse me, I must meet with the Council...."
