Alien race; inhabitants of the Kronos system. Klingons gained spaceflight from the Hurq around -1063 ce and conquered other planets, creating the Klingon Empire.

Through violence, belligerence and imperialism, Klingons clashed with other races & nations for centuries, such as the Federation and the Romulans. Despite political setbacks and concessions designed to minimize conflict, Klingons remained a threat in the 4th century CE.

Enterprise:  "Azati Prime" suggests the Klingons officially joined the Federation by 490 CE.
