[USS Memphis]
Jenna nestled into her seat and watched out the window and watched Earth grow smaller. She had long since left the line of sight from the Arcadia and the docks. What exactly was April doing right about now?
"Dr. Starr?" a voice interrupted. "We had a package arrive for you shortly before you came on board."
Jenna looked up at the voice. "A package for me? This is unexpected."
The ensign gave her a package wrapped in ornate paper which was festively designed. Apparently she was missing something because it was not her birthday and it wasn't a holiday. There could have been no possible way that anyone new that she was leaving since her orders came so quickly.
She looked down and saw it was from Jallez. A grin crept across her face as she gingerly unwrapped the package and found the two very precious gifts. One was a book of poetry. She opened the book and read a poem.
Nature's first green is gold,
Her hardest hue to hold.
Her early leaf's a flower;
But only so an hour.
Then leaf subsides to leaf.
So Eden sank to grief.
So dawn goes down to day.
Nothing gold can stay.
Jenna closed the book and set it with her belongings. She had wished that she could have thanked Jallez personally. But the Vulcans needed her for something that they were working on. Something about a cure for the Bolian flu. It was something she had always thought was funny. There was actually a flu that caused one to turn blue during the duration of it. And the kicker, it didn't originate from the Bolians, but rather a group of travelers gave the disease the name after they met the blue Bolians.
Jenna's eyes began to tear up as she thought about being away from her new-found family. She had wished that she could have said bye to Jallez and Drake, but she wanted to spend her time with Stephen. She pulled a small sandstone rock from her pocket and looked it over. She had picked it up in Cairo while she was with Stephen right before she left him.
She drifted off to sleep as she thought about everyone from the Arcadia. She already missed them more than she could express. There were some sad and lonely times ahead, but she was told it would be for the best. Lots of things in the universe had been done "for the best" and ended up being the worst things that could have possibly been done. But she loved her man and she would walk through the fire mountains on Vegas Prime to be with him, so this... this was a cakewalk, right?
