Kneeling in front of his makeshift shrine, flickering candles caused shadows to dance across the Klingon's face. His hands on his lap, the warrior's eyes were closed. Cascading locks of curly brown hair fell to below Marlu`k's shoulder level. Feeling himself drift into a calm peaceful state, this was a rare pleasantry the more learned of his species enjoyed. Kneeling there in a most transcendental state of awareness a name permeated the Klingon's thoughts – Michael. With the name came a face. A well-trimmed goatee lightly speckled with white around a slightly round face. Brown hair likewise sporting white-grayish hairs was parted in the middle. As Marlu`k's thoughts drifted farther an image of this person became visible. Wide shoulders and thick arms lacking any semblance of height whatsoever in his legs. A single word came to the Klingon's mind at the mental picture – rugged. This individual looked like he could weather a few rounds with a Tarkalian me'ka'go beast.
Feeling as though the connection was waning, a new image of the Michael human came into mental view. He was talking and the words were barely a whisper. Squinting his eyes as though it would help, Marlu`k strained to maintain the mental image.
Talking, speaking words to another unknown human. Slightly balding and wearing eyeglasses. Still unable to hear the spoken words, the image of Michael and his mouth were clear. Attempting to read his lips, Marlu`k determined the other human's name – Chuck.
As a few more moments passed the Klingon lost whatever connection he had – if it were even to be considered a connection. The mental image of Michael was gone. Looking down at the candles it seemed a short amount of time had passed gauging by the amount of wax burned away.
