As Ensign Aranittara Indas moved down the corridor she saw what seemed to be mice skittering along beneath her.
"Cute mice; no, not mice, mice less orderly," Aranittara mused, flipping around to get a better look.
"Lieutenant commander, Starfleet," the mice said as one.
"Collective beings like Tines, oh. Aranittara Indas, ensign."
"Carry on."
"Yes, I obey. Question, are you plural or one?"
"We are both."
"Fascinating; I'll carry on." Aranittara continued swimming down the corridor; well, not swimming, there was no water, but with the antigrav belt she could go through the motions and move at the same rate she did in the seas. "Look, captain ahead. Santa hat? Ensign Aranittara Indas, reporting."
