Aranittara missed the old days on the Arcadia before budget cuts had eliminated her telepresence capabilities. She briefly considered asking her superiors back on Talus whether she could give these Federation people some half-decent power tech but she knew what the answer would be.
Hm… this game show is interesting. I could probably win but I doubt they'd let me play. My augmentations would give me a decisive advantage. Oh well, she thought to herself.
Of course this recession didn't reach Talus; it was already post-scarcity and the civil war (including three failed attempts by various factions to invade Talus) didn't change that. She had even heard tell that they were talking about making a space fleet. Perhaps she'd transfer. But no, she enjoyed these people and there would be no place for such diversity on vessels optimized for Tilit physiology.
