Kaiel listened intently when Neria April spoke of worlds torn down, and having to go back to face them. What world had suffered such a fate?  Or, was she speaking metaphorically?  Was her comment a mixture of both?  From the woman's momentary angst, the Sirenn supposed there was more to the question than he understood.  He had no ready answer for such a complex proposition, so he continued to listen, hoping to learn more.
But, when she asked if he, Avi, Mehera, or any of those at table had traveled through time, or would like to go to the future, Kaiel was simply astounded.  Was this what Minh had come to pass along?  Were such orders contained in the padd Neria April kept staring at?
The very notion boggled his mind.  He thought Starfleet had regulations against time travel.  He seemed to recall they even had some office of investigations, to keep a lid on such things.  Something must be very much amiss, if Starfleet was going against its own policies, in promoting such a venture.  If April had some hint of this, or knew something of the future she suspected they would go to, that might account for her stress, too.
Kaiel was personally challenged.  The scientist inside him took this bait like a starving bass would chase a fisherman's fly.  He had not, in fact, traveled time.  He had heard of such things, and the possibilities and potentials fascinated him.  It would certainly add new levels or dimensions to the Sirenn concepts of eimir.  Whole new patterns of relations, possibilities, probabilities...  It was like a treasure hunt.  If April was serious, there was no way the Sirenn was going to miss such an opportunity.
He glanced to Avi and Mehera, before turning his attentions back to April.
"I have never had the opportunity, Captain," he said, smiling broadly.  "However, short of an untimely death, or unlikely arrest, I would very much like to avail myself of this one.  From your expression, I take it you have a particular future in mind, to explore?  To simply go forward on a timeline might not produce the desired answers.  That is why I ask if you have a target path, or time.  Are we seeking anything in particular?  Will our very seeking it out change or influence its outcome?  Pardon: There are so many questions, it is difficult to not blurt them all out at once.  If your suggestion is genuine, Captain, I would consider the opportunity to be one of a lifetime.  Who knows?  It may be why I have come to the Arcadia, at this moment?  By all means, count me in."
